Order Insight and Consumer Clarity
It became evident as that a proportion of disputes can be resolved quickly if the consumer has more information about the transaction. Merchants can upload and make available details of each transaction for interrogation by either the issuing bank (to pass along to the cardholder) or directly to the consumer themselves once the issuer offers that service. In the case of VISA, this is called Order Insight. Mastercard’s version is called Consumer Clarity.
We advise our clients to offer this service, as it is a an important forerunner to the ability to refute a chargeback in a system called Compelling Evidence.
